exhaust advice.

i think this thread belongs here?

i've had a bonez hi-flo (gutted, got it that way as a loaner) and my loan is up. so i am going for a full resonated midpipe now.

need some advice. my options given by a local muffler shop:

1) 3" midpipe w/Magnaflo muffler (looks like rx7store.net's) - $140
2) 3" midpipe w/Magnaflo ceramic pac muffler (looks like petit's) - $160
3) 3" midpipe w/borla xr-1 (i would have to buy the muffler from summitracing, and have them custom it for an extra $40) - $200

these prices are for pipes made and swapped.

how would the 3 compare, bang->buck. I dont want too much attention from cops so i'm going resonated, so the quieter the better.. but i would still like to keep a nice deep exhaust note (i liked my apexi gt w/stock cat sound)

i'm thinking the fatty magnaflo will confuse cops if i were to get pulled over for exhaust.. and they happened to get on their knees and under the car. but the stock heat sheild should cover the Petit look-a-like pipe?

thanks! before flames... i have searched and many say the xr-1 is the quietest, others like the rx7store ones.. but the $300+ pipes arnt within budget and i cant find sound clips of my set-up (apexi gt + one of those). so i am looking towards the muffler shop stuff. is the quality difference high?

ty azcamel. i will most likely go with that for that reason.

brings me to another topic though... the airpump connection. is it good enough just to disconnect the plug? and leave the assembly in there as a 9lb pulley temporarily?

i'm looking for something that will retain good-high contact with the water pump. and the same alternator output. i have a sound system and i need amps to remain at the stock output atleast.

greddy kit makes up a little contact and is +bling but it will result into slipping and lower amp output from the alternator?

pineapple pulley is what im looking at. possibly the best solution? i'm planning on making this car a dual purpose DD/open track day car.

ty for future inputs.
