Why the hell would you want it on your iPod?

maybe so he doesnt have to print 4000 pages, or so he can study it while he listens to music. either is acceptable.

Links to the FSM are found in the FAQ for FC sticky thread at the top of this section.

But I was not aware of any apple ipod product that let you read PDF files.

It's not even close to 4000 pages, and if you're smart you study it on a full-sized screen and only print the pages you need to take to the car for a particular job. It would be very difficult to "study" the FSM on a tiny iPod screen.

That's exactly what I was thinking. And even if you could zoom, it'd be tedious without a text wrap feature, and to get to that point you'd have to use a text extracting program on the pdf's first.

The FSM's are scans, so text wrapping won't work anyway. They're basically pictures you can move around and zoom. Useless on a small screen.

Slightly OT...

I have the FSM copied to a backup hard drive so I can still get to it should my internet connection fail.
Before setting out on vacation this year I copied the FSM to a flash drive which now sits in the glovebox.
Also on the drive is Foxit (a PDF reader), just in case.

I figured that if I broke down in the middle of nowhere it might be helpful to have a copy of the manual in hand.

Post vacation it occurred to me that the flash drive would be a handy place to track maintenance as well, so oil changes and the like are noted in a simple .txt file.
Instead of handing the next owner a bunch of paper I can just give him the flash drive with the car's history (at least as far as I know it).

Even if it can be done, how much use do you think it'll be on such a tiny screen? Why not just print the pages you need?
