Front fender removal problems.

I'm working on taking a gigantic dent out of my driver's side front fender that my car had when I bought it. The only way I can do it, is to take the entire piece off. I've removed all of the exposed bolts, and the one in the door jamb, and this damned thing still won't come off! Are there some bolts in the bumper area that I'm missing, or should it just pull off at this point?

There is a few up by the bumper that help hold the two pieces together.(access from the wheel well) One at the bottom in front of the door seam. And one underneath by the front bumper on a little bracket.

The ones between the bumper wrap and the fender (4) have a high tendency to snap off. Soak them well with P B Blaster and let them sit for a while. If you snap one off, just grind off the head and weld in a new one..

Another one that you may not have noticed is on the verticle peice that runs parallel to the door. There's a bracket that comes out from the body. It's hard to see the nut without the door being partially ajar.

Yup, you have to go up inside the fender well to reach it.

I found it ALOT easier to take the front bumper off and then the fenders. Cause then the front bumper will be hangin there at an angle. Plus its easier to get the fender off.

Nope, only a FSM, it does show me one little thing, not much though.

And I snapped three bolts off, the two bottom front ones that hold the fender on, and one that holds that shielding up, inside the well. When I get it off, I'll drill and tap them.

I had to put all the ones I had off back on, because I had to go take my sister to my aunt's. So this weekend is my next chance at it.

Thanks for the help.

Here is a link to my Project rotary - 1988 site. There is a link to download tbe mazda sevice manual for the body section. If it's useful join my site it's free. I have 3 members which is pretty sad, so help me out.
