Smile Might be getting a 88 turbo II for 500 bones!!!!

this is so great. A good friend of mine is getting rid of his 88 turbo II He lost the key and it had some wiring issue but for 500 bucks i cant go wrong. I remember when he had it running it pulled hard. Im interested in doing some good power mods. Apparently i should look into a microtech, or some other form of fuel, ignition system? How easy is it to install a microtech? Im no wiring guru but i did put a entire new wiring harness in from the dash all the way forward. He said his dad put some weird push button start system in? He said it made the power windows not work? Awesome deal though i cant wait to tear into it. My N/A will soon be up for sale to fund this TurboII

If the turbo is good, dosn't smoke and everything, and the compression is good... why not just part out your N/A and use what ya can to fix the TII?

A Microtech (or Haltech, or Wolf as the 3 most common) is a standalone fuel/ignition controller. Installation is not really the hard part as the wiring diagram is easy, and you know how to solder, use heat shrink and make wiring looms then you're set. The real work is in the tuning. A standalone does provide a foundation to build on, and it is necessary when making some "real" power. But for a stock car, or one with only basic upgrades, it's not worth it.

You're on your own with that one. I don't troubleshoot electrical problems online.

thats good i got my 87 for 700 and its still running!!

some minor mods to make the most out of it for the price would be , full exhaust 3" $300-800 ,walbro 255 fuel pump $100 , tid mod $30 , port waste gate then manual boost controllor DIY<$100, and then get a rtek 1.7 chip $125 and 720 cc secondary injectors <$300, then you can run max boost out of stock turbo saftly, i belive 12 psi is the peak efficiency?? you could get a front mount IC too even

then later you can just sell the ecu, and use the 720cc as primarys and get like 1600 CC secondarys when u go with a big turbo and stand alone later on!

i think youll see 10's with good tires.

first thing you want to do is take that puch button out of there and wire it back they way its saposed to b. look for somebody parting out and get the ignition and key set and try and get those windows down.. youll never like it after 5 minutes under the sun..

I know triple A (AAA) will send a locksmith out to your car if you tell them you locked yourselfout and you need a key made on site. I had them do it for the trunk key on my 71 roadrunner that I lost lol

Is that just all the turbo can handle? Will a SP make a difference, or will the turbo be maxed out still...
