front end duct work

I just installed my GReddy 3 Row FMIC and must say that its HUGE! I have a minor concern though. Since its basically as large as my fluidyne, would it be worth while to add some ducting behind the IC to direct the air that goes through it down under the car? Kinda like a little scoop. How much would this effect the air flow throught the radiator?
have a Fluidyne rad and the 2950cfm PermaCool fan. Any suggestions? I dont wanna be too **** about this, but it would seem that the hot air through the IC going directly to the Rad. would be a bad idea.

What about brake ducts? Did you lose them too? I would think the ic would make you haul more *** so you gotta keep it balanced and not lose braking performance.

I gamma corrected the image. It is bright now.

You want all the air you can get going through the radiator. Everything that went throught the IC and more if you can get it.

If you are limited to air going through the radiator (as in when you have it blockedoff w/ an FMIC) it is good to lower the pressure on the exhaust side of the radiator.

Instead of having it all exit out the transmission tunnel you could add vents to the hood in low pressure areas (anywhere but up near base of windshield) to relieve pressure. This will help total flow through radiator.

Thanks for the correction!

I dont know that i lost any brake ducts. Had to remove the battery and cut a hole where the tray is and cut out the section where the fuel pump resistor stuff is to route the piping.

I plan on getting the CorkSport Type II complete kit soon, and was going to run a CF hood eventually. i will also use the Corksport vented fenders. They say those are great for removinig air from the engine bay.

But as for heat transfer to the coolant due to the FMIC I dont have to be worried? I wouldnt think it would be enough to harm anything...but you never know!

So you don't have to play the guessing game with the stock water temp gauge you should get an aftermarket water temp gauge. It would be worth it.

Just to show you how little my gauge moves. My factory water temp gauge is centered at 150°F and it stays centered all the way to operating temps. 190 ish. The temp changes 40°F and the stock gauge does not budge. Scary. Just scary. I have a 91 TII.

The aftermaket water temp gauge would proballly be less work than ducts.

the car had an Autometer water temp gauge in it when i bought it, but it wasnt hooked up. I drove teh car from NC to OH and then 12 miles before i started working on it. I will definately hook up the gauge, and decide what to do from there.
Thanks!
