front cover swap

I swapped the front cover on my S5T2 for a S4T2 so I can switch to the manual MOP but the S4 cover must be a little bigger than the S5 cover because when I put the water pump assembly back on, the piece behind the water pump didn't clear the cover and cracked it.
Is there a way to repair the cover that is reliable. Do I need to swap the water pump assembly?

swap both and alleviate the problem. Also, why go OMP when you can just premix and get rid of the OMP?

It doesn't look like it needs a lot removed.

Is it a bad idea?
