Front Clip for Greddy FMIC's.

Here is a primary design I intend on making one out of fiberglass for my car. This will also include a custom front bumper.
This is for you Greddy FMIC folks who only see about 1/3 your airflow to the core.
Comments whether good of bad (preferably constructive) would be good.
Thanks

might as well cut the hole thing out, why leave a line in the middle?

I already have that by cutting the side molding in the front with a dremmel tool. Takes 3 minutes. Gets way more air into the rad and oil cooler. And as far as I know this only works with the 86-88 front end. 89+ has to have the bottom cut out because it slants in and the cooler is to long for that.

The lower half looks just like an S5 bumper or even Corksport. The additional opening where the molding would be has been done. Although I have not seen it done to the length you plan to do it. Typically it's 3-4 oval cutouts along that same stretch.

Well, Yes it is molded similar to the S5 front stock with a splitter but it would be molded, as for leaving the part between the cutout is so that I can get some sort of custom reinforcement behind there. (some sort of protection).

yeah I don't know how much protection you think you will get using this setup because to fit the intercooler you need to remove the bumper core support. I guess you could rig in a steel bar behind it but I don't see that stopping anything. Just don't get in a front end crash and you will be ok.

Actually it is going to be steel but it isn't going to be just one bar.. it will be well reinforced to about the same standard that the stock one was... Give or take a little.
If I had a choice I wouldn't get into a collision at all. So because it is called an accident I would rather be safe than sorry.
