Found a nice RX7. Is it the right one?

Im looking to get a second car as Im selling my scion right now.
I was picking between a VW 97 VR6 Jetta, E30 325 bimmer or a 2nd Gen RX7.
I dont really want a second bimmer so i crossed that out, its really hard to find a decent VR6.

And recently I read into the RX7's and damn they are nice cars! I live in Alabama and i dont think there are many down here but Ive always been into jdms and classics so im really looking into getting one.

So heres what I found recently.
Its a 1988 turbo II version with the vin starting in JM1FC3
has 95k miles on it

Issues:
-Leather is bit worn
-Washer light is on? is this common on these cars
-small scratches here and there
-wheels starting to pit
-3rd gear link is weak. [says it takes bit of time til it gets into 3rd]

And these are some options i just copy pasted
5-Speed Manual
Alloy Wheels
CD player
Cruise control
Front Bucket Seats
Leather Upholstery
Leather seats
Passive Restraint System
Power Brakes
Power Mirrors
Power Steering
Power locks
Radial tires
Rear Defroster
Rear Spoiler
Rear-Wheel Drive
Tilt Steering Column

Heres the only pic on the listing.

Let me know what you guys think.

How long have you been doing research on these cars?

How much are they asking for it?

I have an 87 TII and use it as a daily driver. You must take into consideration that this is an old car. In your case 23 years old. So one must expect maintenance to be a bit more than a new car. Parts wear out.
Don't let that deter you if you like the car and it's mechanically sound. I love mine.

As far as the washer bottle light, more than likely a connection or bad sensor. The electrical systems from Mazda were not the greatest, in a corrosion protection way. Terminals exposed to the elements get corroded and loose continuity.

Well there is no set price. Im thinking it would sell around $4~5 though. Condition seems fairy good for a 23 yr old car.
Yeah this is what worries me. I am aware of the cars age and some basic issues to come but I am in no means ready for what might happen if its major. Good thing is that this will be my 2nd car if i do end up getting it. not the dd.

Nope. Planning on driving the car. Try again.

1. Check the car and bring a rotary friend. If not, that's cool and just remember to read up on it. Just remember that RX-7s are really touchy to anything you do to it. Small fixes here and there as well as any upgrades will affect it more than you may think...

Do you have a lot of money or a good source of income...Çause you may not have money anymore with this particular Mazda...

Buy it. You won't find another one with 95k miles. It's only one picture, but that looks like a good example of what we all want.

I found mine with 87k miles a few years ago lol, but it had body damage that I have yet to fix due to all the BULLSHIT, ****... at that many miles you'll REALLY want to do a compression check, if it runs well and has 100+ psi compression all around you should have a lot of life left in it, for a turbo rotary anyway.

Good advice above. Take a nice long drive in the car before you buy it. Some problems can be covered up, but after a half hour drive or so little problems will appear I guarantee it. Don't be surprised if electronic stuff doesn't work. I thought my rx7 was in good condition at 83,000 miles, but really it needed to be rebuilt.

What he meant was park in a garage, and keep it stock [they tend to last longer and retain more value stock]

Looks clean. ^_^

EDIT: Also, keeping that one in the garage is a very good idea because of the white paint [RX-7's white paint WILL flake off, but garaging it will prolong the life]
