flowmaster ?

ok i have been waiting for some ideas and got some ansers but im affraid to try it so i got this other idea and wanted to see if you could give me your idea on it. i have a 87 N/A

ok if i remove all the cats. 2.5 all the way back and put a flowmaster muffler on there the 40 series perhpas with a duel outlet, in the spot where the main cat is, and put the tubbing for the 5 and 6 ports on it , would that create enough back pressure ? i was thinking of drilling a hole in the side of the muffler and have a small tube welded on to it.

i want the deep rumble sound and thought of this.

anyone on here ever had a flowmaster on the rex? would this work?

also does anyone have a pic of the air pump so i know where it is located and perhaps a pic of the mod done to it to open the 5 and 6 ports?

thanks

i had a talk with skip of KD rotary about this and he told me that he loves the rumble of 70's muscle cars and hes been trying to get that on a rotary for 30 years but he can't, this is exactly why im installing a 95 corvette lt-1 engine in my 88se

IT sounded bad, as in not good. As in >100db at full throttle, as in banned at the Auto-cross for being too noisey. It was harsh and unattractive.

My last set-up sounds much better> RB Roadrace header, cusyom Collector>Spintech Muffler>2 1/2" pipe> Magnaflow

Here is a vid of it idling: IGNORE THE COOLANT BLOWING OUT THE EXHAUST, Pineapple Racing is fixing it under warrenty: Thanks Pineapple!!!

you can only get that deep rumble if your displacement is about 7384502L and you have more than 8 cylinders and you have the all mighty FLOWMASTERS

actually it sounds ok on a good size v6 too :p

as for the flowmaster...i have heard numerous times that the exhaust on our cars is too hot and will weaken and blow the welds on the baffles inside the muffler.

I've had a 2.5" Flowmaster 50 series on for over a year. The muffler is fully in tact. I cannot promise that the muffler has as long a life as others, but the popular rumors are clearly exagerated.

As for it sounding like "***", I have to suggest that banzaitoyota's experience may have been a result of combining it with another muffler. Mine doesn't sound like *** and I've had complements on the sound. Granted the 50 series is more civilalized than the 40 series.
