yes, my exhaust system came off a stock automatic rx7 and it shot flames, mine is a 5 speed with the same one and it also shoots flames.
I think the guy just shifted manually at redline
ps. you need a straight exhaust.

rx7babygurl85 if you still got your cats n emmisions higly doubt it will happen but if you got str8 threw exhaust and shift manually with the auto

Having no cat and a straight through exhaust will definately do it, having a rich tune will also be a determining factor.
In my rx2 (13b turbo) I had a straight through exhaust, no cat, microtech ecu and it wouldnt stop doing flames, lit the whole car up at night when i hit decel. Was annoying in a way, cool if you do one here and there when someone is tailgating you to scare them off, but i was more worried about if i was cruising and a cop was behind me!
In my rx2 (13b turbo) I had a straight through exhaust, no cat, microtech ecu and it wouldnt stop doing flames, lit the whole car up at night when i hit decel.
