Fitting the intercooler in!!??

Ok guys I need some tech advice on this. I have a 24(28 with ends)x12x3 intercooler. Was trying to see how I'm gonna slam that sucker in today while I was removing my rad(in atticipation of the KOYO) So i figured I have the rad out, its on the hoist, lets see what is gonna be involved here. So i pull out the overflow etc, make some room so I can attempt to slide it up into place. So Without some serious hacking, and moving the steel lines, I dont think this thing is gonna fit! I do not want to hack the crap out of my bumper. So who else has installed a intercooler this size in there FC, and how did you go about it? Is it still effective if I lay it down/angled. Or should I sell this one and get one a tad bit smaller( as i have a buyer for my current intercooler already). Let me know your thoughts.

The frame rails are about 26" apart. You will need some creative thinking to fit that intercooler in your car. Yes, it is still effective if angled.

I'm gonna fit a 27x12x3, but the weird thing is that the space between the headlights seems to be a lot closer to 27" on mt TII. The intercooler is like this :

So the core itself should fit between the rails okay , just the spouts would be below the edges of the metal walls.....kinda. I'm not positive on the final fit but I'll post up when I get it in there...

I hope this core isn't too big for a BNR Stage 1 or 2...what do you guys think?

You can modify the end tanks so that the inlet and outlet pipes come out at 90 degree angles to the core, or you can aim them straight up and use 90 degree couplings and send them through the rad support.

I mounted mine infront of the framerails, behind the bumper cover, kinda where the bumper cover goes.

I haven't measured it, it's the greddy vspl kit and it's huge.

28.5 x 8.5 x 3.5. No cutting anything, no altering the structure or anything. The piping goes right between the rad and frame. It looks low, but its an optical illusion. It's only 1 inch lower than the Rad itself.

Let me see if I can find some...

Passenger side:

Driver side:

Edit...That intercooler is mounted well behind the bumper. The stock bumper reinforcement is still there, as is the stock undertray.

has that made it hard to get air to the rad? would it be easier to fab up a VMIC or HMIC setup instead?

I've had no issues with cooling. Water is rock solid between 84 and 90 degrees, oil temp between 180 and 190 (occasionally just over 200 after beating on the car).
