First Time Rx7 owner needs help!!

Hello,
As the thread title states, I am a first time Rx7 owner. I own a white 87 Rx7 N/A. Shes powered by the normal 13b wankel. However, I do have a 20b Cosmo sitting in the hanger waiting to be built up and slammed into my car. In the meantime, I do need to drive this car around a bit and thus need some issues ironed out. Any help is GREATLY appretiated!
Known Issues:
P.S. Leak (unknown location, however the P.S. system works GREAT... just needs fluid added DAILY!!!)
Odd idle (low and sometimes dies...)
Various beeps and boops from the dash even tho no warning lights are illuminated..
A/C system not functioning. New compressor and full charge on system. Electrical problem somewhere from the A/C controls to compressor system.

If anyone has some good suggestions to help with any of the above issues, please post a response!! I will be setting up a website for my car and it's transformation into one bad little street monster... I will keep everyone informed.

Most likely your hoses.

You have a bolt on the TB, unscrew it to raise idol.

If you mean a buzzer, its normal if you hit close to the red line, its just warning you. Otherwise, it can be number of things.

I'll take the AC question since I've had some experience with this exact problem. I had no cold air and assumed it was the compressor or low freon. What I found out from a friend that had an 86 FC was the AC relay was bad and wasn't activating the compressor when I puched the AC button. He took a wire and jumped across the contacts and the AC worked and cooled great. The AC relay is mounted on the front of the engine bay, its a round switch with a black plastic hood covering for protection I guess. It is about an inch in diameter and a couple of inches high. If you jump the contacts and the AC works, or at least comes on and blows air and your engine revs increase by 1K then you know its a bad relay. If you have a junk yard or Auto Retirement Center available to you, you should be able to find plenty of the same relay in the 80-89 model Hondas. I picked up 5 - 6 at my local ARC for a $1.00 each. I got that many to insure I got a few good ones and I used one and passed a few out to rotary owners who are having AC issues.

Good Luck, and welcome to the wonderful world of RX7 ownership. Before your through getting you car running and dependable you'll love her like a sister and never want to part with her and you'll learn alot about mechanics and autos. That's to say stay away from mechanics and do all your own repairs.

Welcome to the forum.

Be sure to read the FAQ thread at the top and to go through the archives. Lots of good information has been gone over here.

And regarding your AC system... if it's got a known good compressor, and full refrigerant, make sure the relays are all in good shape, when you engage/turn on the compressor there should be an audible clicking noise. If that doesn't happen, you're gonna need to pull out the FSM (can be downloaded from the FAQ thread...FREE...) and do some wire tracing. Could also be a logicon problem. For more info on that just search "Logicon" and you should get a number of threads.

Good luck on the 3-rotor project, and keep us all up to date with it!!

James

EDIT: GTUser... we think on the same plane. I found it funny that as I typed my response you were probably wrapping yours up.
