First time it hasn't started and didn't know why

Well, yesterday I was working on my alarm install, and while powering my electronics on, I accidentally started it for a second and then turned it off. I only did it once, and made note to myself to not do it again, because I woulden't want to flud it(Which I probabally all ready did)

Well, I try to pick up my brother today, and it won't start? huh? .... Ohhh, yeah, it's probabally flooded from my little "incident" yesterday.

So I remember about how to fix this situation many times here. So I pull out the EGI fuse, and crank it over for about 20 sec. I put it in again, and no go. I tried it two more times, and it soulded like it was about to start more and more each time. But now the battery was almost dead, so I did something I thought would speed up the process, before my battery died.

I pulled both of the leading spark plugs out and the EGI fuse, and then cranked it for about 15-20 sec. And then replace everything. Same thing, almost starts, which makes me think it's not flooded.

This is the first time it has not started and I didn't know why. Actually I have started it for a second before, and it didn't flood.

So, ...... anybody? what gives?...later

Probably still flooded...Put about an ounce of oil into each rotor chamber and turn it over by hand. Now do it again. Put a new set of plugs in and try and start it with the pedal completely to the floor...Lift your foot as soon as you hear it try to catch....

Worst case, push start it with another vehicle. That will always get it going.

Well, I'll try putting an ounce of oil in the chambers right now. hope this works. And about turning it by hand, I am not weak, but it is really hard to turn. I just put a new set of plugs(NGK's) in at the last oil change. Funny that the ends are black now, that's not cool

I am seriously scared to put the pedal to the floor, I don't want to flood it more than it all ready is...

I need something to get me to school tomorrow

It's a 1991 n/a coup, w/ 60k on new(not rebuilt) engine, btw. (My sig is not showing up??)

On a S5 if you floor the pedal while starting you cut the fuel injectors. Do not fear flooring it.

Wait, you got a NEW engine! Like, new internals?

Ahh, then to the floor it is!

Yeah, the car has like 167k on it, and the new engine has about 61-62k on it. The previous owner said it was a brand new engine, shipped over from japan; but since have no reason to believe him because I found major damage under the bra of the car, which he refuses to fix. (Although there are legidimate receipts...) He claims it "Looks just fine with the bra 'on', so there is no reason to fix it." You really can't trust anybody these days, I just learned the hard way my first time...later

Take out the spark plugs and turn the key. Crank it and let the fuel evaporate through the spark plug holes. It should work if the car's flooded.

From first post:

I pulled both of the leading spark plugs out and the EGI fuse, and then cranked it for about 15-20 sec. And then replace everything. Same thing, almost starts, which makes me think it's not flooded.

I all ready tried that.

Well this morning I did try the egi fuse pull again, But this time w/ the gas pedal to the floor......Battery died, completly.

Bah to heck with this, I didn't really want to sit around trying to get it started draining someone elses battery too, so I had my brother push me w/ his car, and it started up within 10-15 seconds

I'll be a little more carefull about flooding it again, thanks guys...later

You need to crank it for more than that. 15-20 sec will not get you anywhere. Try more like a minute. Anyway, good thing you got her started. You should look into installing a fuel cut-off switch if flooding is a problem. I have it in my car and if you just kill the car with the switch when you turn it off, there is no flooding whatsoever.
