I ran with the water pump capped at the back of it.
The FD upper was pretty well just that.The Throttle body was bare as hell.
The engine was bare bones too,just the injectors,CAS and the coolant and intake sensor.The intake sensor was from Fighters-Garage.("fraits" they call it)

 

My guess's:

I know the FD UIM does indeed have it's own BAC, albeit I believe no water lines running through it. So the water lines are simply capped off as no longer needed. The Haltech utilized the FD BAC as it was utilizing the FC BAC and the Haltech is smart enought to do what the thermowax used to do.

The FD BAC also does what's needed to compensate for PS and AC engine loads.

RIGHT???

 

Nevermind, I just reviewed a diagram of the FD TB and the thermowax is absolutely there.

 

Please just make and sell these adapters please! The whole point of an adapter is so you don't have to port match the holes after you buy it, a fact which seems to be lost on the provider of the only pieces currently available

what is the consensus on throttle cables?
you guys use lokar aftermarket or FD?
someone who actually did it please respond

 

I used Lokar aftermarket one.

 

i happen to have a FD here now, after looking at we have a FD cable on its way, also going to order the rubber hose for the brake booster so it has the nice bend in it

 

im that guy with the blurry picture, will have a better picture later in the week when the fd cable is on

 

ROB: I just did the FC engine up again,using the RisingRPM adapter,rails,block off plates (shameless plug)..
I did use a TII throttle cable.
I'll try to get pics of it for you.(i just tend to forget stuff lately though..lol)

The Throttle cable comes out of the Firewall,gets attached to the oil filler tube,snakes in between the engine and firewall,..attaches to the upper,to the strut tower,back to front of the engine,through a little fabbed cable bracket and then to the Throttle body.
It is a little more than what I wanted length-wise but it works when you can't afford to have custom stuff made up.

 

I used the T2 cable on mine...it is way too long but it isn't hurting anything.

 

Keep in mind the tii cable with the tii uim bothered me. Car is running right now with the tii cable, its really long. For $56 a fd cable will fit nicely

exactly like stock, I should have taken a picture when they were side by side.
before I took the TII cable out I compared it to the stock NA cable, pretty much identical so I swapped them out.

sold the tii cable off so it worked out well for me. New FD cable was actually $43, sold the FC one for $30 shipped no fees

 

Damn!..
I started off with an s5 TII upper and modified the throttle body and put BRAND NEW N/A cable on.
Then I went FD upper and tried to get the Cable out and snapped one of those plastic teeth off the grommet taking the N/A cable out.( I got Pissed off tryin to get it out,and my Back hurt..lol!).
I put a Brand New TII cable on for the FD conversion.(on now).
So..Now I gotta get an FD cable?.........will it ever end???..(haha!)

 

Cost of the cables are the least of the expenses, wish it was all that cheap

Yes but changing cables dont mean changing tuning, its a simple cheap modification.

This is what I have been trying to get on the road.Actually I took it down the road today but it needs a Bad tuning so I just turned around and came back..it was the best .7 of a mile I drove...in 3 months!

 

Whenever I buy a car, I make it a habit to spend a few weeks stripping it down and cleaning- not just the exterior but also the engine bay, the wheel wells and the undercarriage.
This gets you up close and personal with the entire car and reveals details/issues you may have missed before purchase.

It's pretty amazing how clean you can get the bay with some time and creativity.
You needn't paint and polish, just get everything as clean as you can, it makes a huge difference and makes future work less grimy.

 

Clokker is right on, few gallons of auto magic engine wash will handle everything from the carpet to the engine bay, and a pressure washer.

 

I'd be careful with brittle fc wiring and a power washer. Be sure to use a wide nozzle and low pressure.

I purchased the rising rpm s6 intake adaptor. What's the skinny on using the s4 oil tube?

 

You hold it a little further away , not right on top, and dont use some crazy pressure washer one of the electric ones work good if you nervous.
Im not using a adapter. Are there differences between a s4 and a s5 oil tube?
