FC3S S4 to S5 engine harness adapter
Hey everyone,
Been doing some research and im a little stumped. Most searches pointed me to the fsm page f2-32-34 for a pin out on my engine harness.
My project has developed over the years and I had an S4 engine turbo engine built with a microtech lt10s. The body was pretty rusty so I bought a nice s5 body and got everything transferred over except the plug built for the s4 engine doesn't match up (face smack). So what I plan to do is cut out the S5 male and solder wires to the corresponding s4 female to make an adapter between the two. (see attached pictures).
Im getting stumped because I can only seem to find the pin outs for the factory plug that goes into the computer. However my system never used that plug. It used a set of plugs located in the fender wall on the s4, and to the drivers side of the blower motor on the s5.
Any idea what these plugs would be called or can someone point me to where I can find out what pins are what on the s4 and s5?
This is the S4 plug my microtech attached into.
I believe this is the equivalent s5 male.

S4 harness in the FSM wiring diagram describes it as such.
Page 26/108
FEM-02 Connector between Front (F) and Emissions (EM) Harness.
So I need to match these up.
Y/B - B/W - - L/R - - - B/W - B/Y
- - - -B/W - - B/R - - - - - - - - B/Y
With the S5 equivalents on page 136/143 in the 1991 FSM wiring book.
From the S5 (1991 FSM)
These two plugs are what came off the S5 Factory loom. My guess is I only need to worry about 8 wires among this mess. I am not sure if it is safe to assume B/W and B/Y will stay the same. The gauge appears to be a match.
Now the weird thing is the second s5 plug seems to have matching colors.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what these pins go to?

The B/Y wires from the S4 FEM-02 go to the two S5 wires in FEM-02 (FEM-02 is the same as X-11).
And to clarify, the wires you need matched up from the S4 harness is from the Front side of the harness?
And are you aware that the FEM-02 diagram you provided is for the S4 NA and not turbo diagram?

both were previously non turbo cars.
S4 & S5
My guess is B/W to B/W, B/Y to B/Y, Blue/Red to Blue/Red
Yellow/Black to the S5 X-10 harness Yellow/Black
but I have 2 B/W wires and 2 B/W with red stripes on the s4... and only 2 B/W on the S5 these red stripes... where do they go?

Y/B off of S4 FEM-02 goes to Y/W of X-11 from the S5. This wire is for the Temp Gauge.
Both B/W wires from the Front harness of S4 that are next to each other go to the Emission side of X-11 which are next to each other.
If you look at the front side of FEM-02 the B/R wire is in a parenthesis and this is for an auto and the wire is specifically for the Inhibitor Switch.
The L/R wire from the front of S4 FEM-02 runs to pin 1A of the S5 ECU and it is a straight run from the Room fuse and does not use X-11.
