fc turbo project help

So after a long wait of almost a year of my car supposed to be worked on I went down and picked it up since the guy was moving. Well the stuff that was being told to me was being done wasn't and after paying a lot of money for nothing to be done I went down and picked up a car that looked like the pics below. I have never built a rotory and don't have much of a clue what to do on it.

Here is the list of stuff that is going on the car...
microtek computer
1000cc injectors
t04e turbo
trust fmic
acu volt
racing beat downpipe
and there is a lot of other stuff
but right now I am upset that I paid money for a car that was to be finished and waited for a year for a car and its not even close to being finished. Any help would be apprieciated. trying to figure what everything is.

a turbo swap or upgrade form the looks of it.

looks like you have everything needed. doesnt look like those parts where picked up for any specific reason other than the guy just scratching his head and buying anything that said TURBO in an ebay auction.

looks like you have the equivalent to make two cars into turbo vehicles though, which is great cus you can sell off most of the parts.

sell almost everything, except perhaps the microtech and start all over. it will be cheaper and easier. find a car that is nearly stock and start from there.

otherwise one of two things will happen:

1) you will be in over your head and screw a lot of stuff up in an attempt to get the wiring etc figuredout, or otherwise never have enough time to finish it. I'm not saying that to flame you or put you down. I have a lot of experience and I would still struggle with such a hodgepodge.

2) you will pay a shop to fix the other shop's mistakes. The problem is, time is money and Rx-7's aren't worth anything. the labor costs to make sense of the car could easily be more than what the rolling chassis is worth

Thats a lot of stuff. I see 3 CAS's, 2 or 3 downpipes, 2 or 3 fc BOV adapter pipes, FC and FD intake manifolds, 2 exhaust manifolds, 2 wastegates, T3-T4 Turbo adapter?, and a stripped block under the hood... Hmm. Sounds like you got stiffied... Why would anyone TRUST a mechanic?

I would suggest that you do research on the shop you hire, and check that they're doing the work and doing it correctly, if they don't do the work, you don't pay. OR Learn to do it yourself and never pay a mechanic again. Machinists and other specialist usually are hired for specific jobs (lapping, welding, ect.) and are less likely to shaft you.

Start peicing it together and sell whatever you have left over... Or sell all of it and the car and find something that is already put together.

well the block that is in the car is a street ported, there are 2 fd down pipes, not in the pics is a trust fmic for a fd, I started putting stuff back together. I have built a stage 4 wrx and plenty of other cars (supras, chevy, porsche's) this is the first rotory. The car was supposed to be wired up and put together. I paid 1500.00 for the parts and install and was going to pay another grand when it was finished and running.

If you get a Hanes manual, it can put some of that engine into perspective ...

But realistically, thats a huge teardown judging from the pics, its prolly easier to buy a Used T2 engine and tranny and dump that in at this point.

Are all the parts that came off the block in your possession?

A LOT of badass parts, but the fact that you've never worked on one of these cars will be a major obstacle. I wouldn't sell everything and start with a stock car though, find a local experienced FC guy and pay him to do everything while helping along the way and learning. You also need to do a LOT of research to understand everything on the car if you want to keep it reliable. Good luck, the car should be sick when its done.

I am finding that some nuts and bolts are missing but I ordered a full bolt kit for the car. I called some friends from rt tuning and with the port job and setup this is running when finished should be pushing around 450 whp at about 17lbs. I am building this for my fiance to drift with. The spare motor is going to street ported as well. I am not going to start from scratch. I am mechanicly inclined enough. This was my last build. I built myself. TurboXS didnt have a stage for it anymore as I passed there stage 4 setup

^ Nice car, if you built that yourself, you should have no problem here.

As far as "never working on a rotary before," For the level of work you're trying to do, here's what that will affect: The engine is a different shape than the Subi.

There you go, there's the major obstacle Now, That no longer holds true when you get the car running, then it's time to get to a tuner/dyno who knows microtech and rotaries, but other than that, there's an intake, an exhaust and a turbo shoved in the middle. You'll be fine.

Yeah really if you built that then forget giving the car to a shop. Find the service manual and get to work.

a subaru is way more of a pain in the *** to work on than a rotary. compare the time needed for a spark plug change for instance...
