This is safety wire...

Commonly used on aircraft and required by some racing organizations on certain parts ( drainplugs, for instance), safety wire can prevent fasteners from vibrating loose- if done properly.

Correctly applying it is an artform but yours is carelessly done.
I'll bet if you look closely, the other bolt heads on that flange are also drilled, just not wired.

clokker: i had no idea what that was, i mean i noticed it but that was there from the previous owner.

wogboy: drives fine. actually feels really stock. i have'nt really pushed it yet tho (due to the several issues stated a previous post). i have only driven it once, which was yesterday to and from the gas station and i couldnt resist but to give it a little gas and it kicked nicely, but beings as that i was in my neighborhood i really didnt get a chance to play. today when i go to work(about a 5 mile drive) i will test it a little, but still want to wait untill all the bugs are worked out before i really run it.

It looks to me like it is a tamper-resistant wire rather than a safety wire because it is not routed properly for safety and it looks like it has a lead security seal at one end. I don't think the other bolt heads are supposed to be safety wired because they are recessed, and if memory serves me correctly that model only had the two bolts wired. It may be a good idea to contact Paxton to make sure it doesn't fly apart.

Centrifugal superchargers don't hit full boost until the engine hits redline. Therefore, your car will feel pretty much stock at low engine rpm. Unfortunately, with the incorrect pulley you are going to need to stay at low rpms to avoid chewing up the supercharger.

Interesting, looks like I jumped the gun.
Never really seen wire used like a "Do Not Remove" sticker before but now that you point it out, the lead seal is obvious.

As Lily Tomlin's Ernestine would say..."Nevermind".

wow, what a ride. as said before (and confirmed by evilaviator), at the lower rpm's under slow accelaration, the car felt basically as it did before, but when you punch it a little, it was amazing. the car was very responsive and the first time i gave it a little it actually threw my head back a bit. i was VERY tempted to give it a smasll launch from the red light and test accelaration from the dig, but i had to fight the urge....instead i gave it medium throttle inputs from a roll (accelerating from about 20 mph to 50 pretty quickly). the difference is quite noticiable on the low end when you're running it, but since i didnt take it above 4500 rpm, i'm not sure about the high end. cant wait to get everything else taken care of to test the car all around!

not to mention, it sounded pretty cool...!

UPDATE

rewired the supercharger fluid pump as i was noticing that it started cutting on and off intermittedly. utilized a spare plug that was not being used on the wiring harness that was hot when the key was on and had 12 volts flowing through it. also changed the 30 amp fuse to 10 amp (forgot to do this earlier) for more security. also checked on the leaky injector. the o-ring was ripped and i replaced it, so hopefully that was the only problem. this saturday i have arranged to borrow a camera so a video will be up that night! i can post it just like a picture right?

last video!!! thanks for all the help on getting these vids onto the forum and all the other help throughout this thread. still to come is the bigger=better pulley, upgraded fpr, bov and gauges. maybe then i'll get it dynoed and update on a new thread. again, thanks for all the support. i know that rx-7 owners are some of the most tempermental and argumentative people on the internet, but thats what makes this forum so great.
