FC-FD interchangeablity

Hey i was just curious as to all the parts are interchangeable between T2s and FDs if any. I got an 87 T2 but if i get my coop next semester im going to sell that and get an FD when i have the money. I didnt want to mod the t2 if i was gonna sell it in 6 months. Thanks for your input.

so if the front and rear PADS are the same, how about the brake calipers and rotors? Are there single turbo FD manifolds that bolt up to T2 turbine housings? If I was going to externally gate an FD would I have to use two for the twins? or do people run it off one. Ill take some of the Qs to 3g forum, just trying to figure out a way i can mod my FC and transfer some of the mods if/when i get an FD. Thanks guys!

since his post is about selling his car in 6 months and buying an FD I'm pretty sure he is asking what parts he can mod his car with now then swap onto the FD later.

like wheels, suspension etc.

nothing aftermarket will swap from one to the other. the front pads will. but for only $40 -50 bucks I see no reason to remove and swap them to the new car after.....

the rotors are different, as are aftermarket brake kits.

turbo manifolds for FD don't clear in FC.

sure you can put some stock FD parts onto the FC like alt etc. but that doesn't help him at all in 6 months as the FD would already have one anyways...

if you got a 5bolt hub, your rims will fit if they are over 16 inchs

also, if you get a single large turbo, it should fit on a fd as long as it fits the manifold for a fd.

And for that matter, all the rotor seals and many of the the other engine seals...

Ok, that's my smart *** post for the month.

It's a joke aaron, since the fc corner seal springs are stupid small, and most rebuild kits include fd springs (or have them, but charge extra).

so
