Fair deal? Oil Injector Lines and Pilot Bearing

So I put my 89 GTUs in the shop because of an oil leak. The shop is Dave Turner Motorsports in San Diego, aka JMC Motorsports, the technician is Seth who I think used to have his own shop but now works there. Sort of famous in the RX7 community here in socal I think.

They quoted me $350 for fixing the oil leak which they think is because of the oil injector lines.

I also think my pilot bearing or whatever is going out because when the car starts up cold it makes whirly sound with my foot off the clutch and not in gear.

Anyways, advice?

Let them fix it?

Not sure what you're looking for here......your car's in the shop getting repaired? Do you want me to recommend whether you pay with cash cheque or Visa?

infamous is more like it, check up on the guy's history as he has screwed many people over and i am not referring to his shop burning to the ground.

the price to replace the injector lines seems fair but whether you will get quality work is another questionable issue. the pilot bearing, which sounds to me more like a throwout bearing or input shaft bearing, would be in the similar range to replace.

Most people, myself included, have had good experiences with his workmanship.

Damn it, it's not an oil injector... it's apparently the front engine cover gasket... estimate is now $600

He actually rebuilt the engine himself at Puresports... gr.

WTF? $600 for replacing the front-cover gasket? That would take 2 hours!
