My girlfriends dad has a shop. He said he can get me the engine at his cost. He told me rougly 1200 from the mazda dealer. What else would i have to change. Or should i just do a rebuild? All i really want is about 220-240 to the wheels.

Your gonna need a TII tranny as well. I don't think the A-spec autos can hold up to even a mild turbo engine.

The A-spec and J-Spec autos are the same POS JATCO unit.

Oh, I thought I had read that the j-specs were better. Oh well. Still, you might want to look at getting a TII tranny. It might not be neccesary if you keep the power low, but its good insurance.
