engine starts....but then cuts off

it will rev once then cut off

anybody have any idea what trouble shooting i should do

So it revs to 3k on starting and then just stalls? Sounds like your AFM is not plugged in but more info is needed to get a better idea of what we're dealing with.

Start with the airflow meter. This is typical broken airflow meter behavior on any fuel injected car. It squirts fuel in for startup, which will star the engine, but then it switches over to the airflow meter to keep it running. If the airflow meter is broken/disconnected, the engine will burn off the startup fuel and not be able to continue running because the computer thinks there's no airflow (and therefore no fuel).

well we hold the throttle open and it just dies
the mafs is pluged in but im not sure if its stuck or anything

Right. It's not getting fuel past the initial start squirt. Download the FSM, and check the MAF as specified.

It is a 91, so pull the engine codes. There is a how-to on our website. It does sound like a faulty AFM or the TID has popped of the turbo. It could also be one of the couplers at the IC.

91 motor in an 83 gsl

so my dads goin over the harness and im about to check all the fittings on the ic piping and all that

anyone know how many gallons per minute the t2 fuel pump is

the haynes manual says its 71.1 to 92.4 psi

then i pop on jegs and a holley in line pump is 15psi for forced induction rated at 80 gph
