Question Engine Stands??? Richmond VA!

Anyone have any recommendations on an engine stand? Also, I'm assuming you can't buy one with the proper adapter for an RX7. Doesn't look like any I've looked at would mount the engine right out of the box. Any ideas there short of the $90 at MazdaTrix? Getting ready to pull a 13B out of a 2nd Gen.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. anyone in the Richmond VA area that would want to provide some help?

Other than welding up your own adapter plate, the Mazdatrix one is the only Ive ever seen. If you have access to a welder and have some pieces laying around, try and fab up your own.

Buy a standard engine stand. Take all the little extension arms off and save for a boinger buddy. Remove the AC/Power Steering Mount Bracket from the engine. Remove the CAS. Remove the two studs from the Front Cover that go to the PS Bracket. Now take the head of the engine stand and place it over the two remaining studs, use a 12 mm(?) bolt to go in the upper hole. Walla!!!! You just saved 65.00 for a Pineapple Adapter or 90.00 for a Mazdatrix one. IF you want send me your Head and I'll make it into a dedicated rotary head for 45.00 + shipping John

Why do you need an engine stand? Just use a table!

Yup, built three motors on the good old workmate. Never had a problem. Not like the short block weighs anything.

two 2x4's 18" long and a table is all ya need. (keeps the e-shaft off the table when assembling and keeps the oil pick-up off the table when you tear it down) However, I will be making a new rotary head for my stand the next time around. I never had any problems with the table though.
