Engine problem? N/A motor.

My engine won't turn. When I start the ignition the car just sounds like its sucking in air.. Nothing under the hood wants to move.

Its not flooded.
It was running fine a week ago.

Can anyone help me? Thanks!

What do you mean by "nothing under the hood wants to move"? You said it sounds like its sucking air, which would seem to indicate that the motor is turning over. So, which is it? And more info on year and model, along with any recent mods of work that has been done is definitely needed.

S5 NA SE 1987.

No mods.

Seems like nothing moves but I don't know where the noise is coming from.

No crank btw.

So when you turn the key to start, the engine does not rotate?

Does it make a clicking noise when you turn the key forward? Is it a one time click or a rapid click click click? Could be a bad starter..

Well! Right there is the problem.

You have one of the Rare 1987 series five non trubo cars. They didn't make a seperate Factory Service Manual for that particular version, so your SOL.

They print one FSM for the 1987 series five, but unfortunalty, it's a Turbo FSM. Darn the bad luck.
