engine cuts out

I have a '91 FC and the engien cuts out sometimes. I was cornering hard and it cut out and when I was doing a 60-80 3rd gear test, it also cut out. My foot would be planted when it cuts out.

Any thoughts? Thanks, T

On the highway it was climbing toward 6 or 7K RPM. On the street, maybe 4K RPM around a turn. I think it may have larger injectors put in and maybe that's screwing it up. It's a J-spec engine and has a horrible idle. It will lope sometimes as well (a slow lope). I'm surprised how smooth this engine is, but I think it's too slow.

I tried a sucessful 60-80 3rd gear test and it took almost 6". My FD runs it around 3.5", but then a gain, it also has 2x more power. I think my FB had more torquiness than my FC, but no way near the power. This car is just smooth, I never realise what speeds I'm driving at.

Maybe the car was low on gas? Maybe that's why it sputtered? I put gas in it and it hasn't cut out yet. It's it's possible that the fuel is slushing around?

if this happens while cornering or hard acceleration and decel the baffling could have started to rust out of the tank.

check the fuel pump, the sock is either clogged, or the baffle is not there anymore.
