Emissions Removal Question
I am in the middle of doing a swap of an '88 13b N/A into an '88 B2200 truck. The guy I have helping me out needs to know what all he can get rid of with emissions and all the solenoids and crap on top the engine. They're all removed now, but we still have everything to throw back on. We are trying to clean up everything that way that rats nest isnt in the way. Any place I can get all the vacuum diagrams or anything like that, or something that shows whats needed to be done to remove all the emission junk and re-route the vacuum hoses that are still needed? Thx for any assistance!
Here's a color S4 NA diagram. You can take off just about everything exept the vac line to the fuel pressure regulator/solenoid, the vac line to the boost sensor, and the metered air line to the 4 oil injectors.
Emissions requirements rarely, if ever, help you get more power, run as economically, nor run as cleanly (with regard to engine internals and intake components). Pulling emissions typically makes for fewer failure points, including vacuum leaks, which are a common and frustrating issue with these cars.
