Exclamation ECU Recommendation

...for bone stock turbo s5 currently boosting 6-7 psi. Looking for ECU to boost 10 psi max with downpipe, resonated midpipe to stock exhaust. Stock fuel system but might get a new pump.

What I'm looking for is 100% reliability, near stock idle, AC, decent MPG (which it gets now) meaning dont just want to dump fuel and run rich.

Rtek is plug and play, has a lot of nice built-in features, and there is a lot of support for tuning. I normally endorse Megasquirt, but I think that with your goals, you'd be better off with something simple like Rtek

From my understanding, if you want to retain your OMP, your only options are Rtek or PowerFC.

Idle, AC, fuel economy, etc are all dependent on your tune not the computer.

That's correct. I have a Megasquirt ECU in my car. I built it myself. Everything all together, wiring harness and all, cost just a touch over $500. That's a steal for a fully programmable EMS. I have power steering, air conditioning, and my idle is at 750 rpm, smooth as a baby's ***.

For some reason people seem to think you have to remove the PS and AC to have a fast car or to run an aftermarket EMS. Neither is true.

There was the electronic omp controller project. Website seems to be messed up or abandoned? Home Anyone know what's up?

But yeah, rtek sounds like you need.

Looks like rtek 1.5 is whats applicable to me since I'm keeping my stock injectors. also from what I'm reading on the site, after stock boost is that just tricking the boost cut like FCD or does it actually have mappings for more fuel?

this web site was half built before he got distracted building a new prototype that is to be plug and play for rx8
he does this as a hobby,,, his main business that gobbles all his time is sound measuring equipment
the distractions made him mess a few orders up with delays
... he only builds the units in batches .. so currently sending out a few free ones
and catching up with demands before the website gets completed,, and the rx8 product gets released

The Rtek 2.1 has stock setting and variations like 550/720 and 720/720.
That is without even touching the maps.
then later you can alter it if you desire.
My choice?. Get Buddy's RTEK!

.. i have one of the eomp units working in my car.... im a test mule
--been running quite a while now, trialling TPS and various map sensors and various software revisions

and i have an e8 that is perfectly capable of doing it already.. but this leaves the outputs spare for other uses
( my rx7 runs an LPG carb,, the ecu is for logging and ignition and other secret projects )
