Drove the Yello Rocket around....

This sunday i took the little yellow one out for a drive. For some reason, she doesnt like the start cold, but hot starts fine. I think she forgot that t2's are supposed to start cold, but flood out when hot. Oh well. I think its not happy that im using a probeGT air flow meter. But it drives really nice, cruises great, lots of low end power. It revs to 4k no problem. I drove it around a bit, then checked the codes. Im getting a crank angle sensor code and an oil metering pump code. I figured id be getting an oil metering code, im using an 87-88 mechanical pump. I checked the crank angle sensor, connector is ok. I reset the codes and drove it around some more. Still getting same codes. I need to track the wiring on the harness and see about that crank angle sensor code. Might need to replace the CAS. Other than that, the car is running really well. It idles silky smooth even with enlarged ports. Ill probably take it for a spin in a couple of weeks after i get done moving into the new house. Anyone wanna cruise??? =]

advantages are: ProbeGT airflow meter was located on top box of misc parts. TurboII airflow meter was not located after many many hours of ripping apart the garage.

I still am. Im moving so i need to move the car to the new house. So i had to throw everything together and get it running with the stock ecu. I thought it would barely run, but its actualy running really well right now. When i get the car to the new house i can start wiring up the new harness for the e6k.

That's what I figured. I was just making sure you weren't wimping out. Are you using the fully terminated harness? If so then all you'll need from your engine harness is the water temperature gauge sensor and the windshield wiper harness. That took me a LONG time to do.

On my harness--91 TII--the water temperature sensor was part of the engine harness.

Probe MAF, not starting when it is cold? Why don’t you stop rigging your **** and fix it proper!! Patience is a virtue and my friend you need some!! Haha I will ride in your car when it is not rig-a-fied. Late

doesn't the oil metering pump code make the ecu go into "limp home mode?" on the 89-91 cars.

If you add some resistors I think it will work ok, unless the ECU needs to see a variable resistance.

Yah, the ecu should go into limp home mode, but so far it hasnt. Even if you throw some resistors, im still no sure if it will work. The ecu wants to see the metering pump motor spinning. So far, it hasnt been too pissed off that its not there.
For those of you wondering why im using an 87-88 front cover and mechanical OMP, its because the haltech doesnt control the oil metering. A much easier solution is to pre-mix.

I premix with my Wolf 3D. It only takes an extra 2 minutes at each fill-up.
