Driver side window isn't working

When I bought my 91 rx7 the windows were both stuck half way up. I bought different window regulators and then recently bought a different master switch. Yesterday I got the switch and tried it out. It didnt work weirdly (to me at least) so my dad and I did some test with a test light and power probe. With the power probe I can make the driver side window move up and down fully. With the switch I cant. The passenger side works perfectly fine with my new switch, not the older one. When trying to move the driver side window my battery bolts drop from around 14 (with car running) to about 10 and makes the car sound like it will die. The passenger side doesnt do that. Also the wires get warm when trying to use it. Does anyone have ideas?

Power window issues are very well covered. Utilize the search function and you will indeed find the solution to your problem...

If applying 12V direct with the Power Probe makes the window move up and down, I would suspect that the window switch is faulty. You need to get a good mulitmeter and test for 12V at the power window motor's connector when the switch is depressed. The power window switches in these cars commonly fail. A faulty switch can cause some wonky issues. The harness is pretty small in between the switch and the window motor. Inspect it for any breaks and check the connectors for corrosion just to be on the safe side. Sounds to me like the window switch is faulty. new ones are not cheap but that may be a route you will have to go.

Open the switch up and clean all the copper rocker bits and pieces with the finest sandpaper you can find, spray with QD electrical cleaner, put a bit of dielectric grease in there, reassemble, recheck window operation.

The relay could be the issue. I would also inspect the wring that runs through the door and into the body. Sometimes from opening and closing the door so much the wiring will get brittle and will break. Try moving the door to different positions when pressing the switch and see if the window starts to move. If it does you know the issue is in wiring traveling from the door into the body.

PLUS 1 on the pass through wiring, I have seen this a bit, not just on rx7, but plenty of chevy and dodges.
