Exclamation drive shaft question

We are in the finishing stages of putting a TII in my vert, but the driveshaft doesn't fit or something, would a TII work? The tranny is from a TII but the rear diff is from an N/A... we were thinking of taking it to a shop and just make one, but I think that might be expensive so I would prefer getting a TII drive shaft it would work...

If you are using a R type tranny (turbo tranny) and a non turbo rear end, then you have a couple of options.

#1 Get a Turbo rear end and drive shaft
#2 Get a Mazdatrix Drive shaft that mates up to your R type tranny, and a non turbo rear end.

Those are the preferred methods, but other methods include:
#3 Drill or replace the flange on the non turbo rear end to match up to a Turbo drive shaft.
#4 get an auto tranny drive shaft (but the auto tranny drive shaft is about 1 inch short to fit in perfectly. It fits but is just short).

Thanks Icemark... I might try option 3... seems the cheapest right now... especially since everyday I have to buy something else for this car!

I did #3 when I first swapped in a 13BT and Tranny into my vert a couple years back, but had a hard time not getting drive line vibration. So if you redrill it make sure everything is perfect and that you are doing it on a drill press

Can you just swap the differential input shaft between the TII and N/A? will this work?

nope, they are a different size.

In theory (in other words I have not tried it; nor do I know of anyone that has) though you might be able to swap the mounting flange on the end of the differential input shaft/pinion.

I hadn't looked at it, I just assumed the input shaft and flange was one piece.
