Speaking of flushing....is there a way to flush the heater core while I've got my engine out, or should I just wait til I drop the engine in and flush it the "standard" way?

you could always clamp the hose onto the end of an air-compressor and force it all out w/ air... just a thought

turn the heater on, remove the radiator plug and the engine plug, let it drain. fill with distilled, water, repeat until only clear water drains out

My first FC had a perfectly running engine and I switched over to the orange stuff because it was "better". Well, it IS better for ENGINES DESIGNED TO USE IT. Not too long after I put it in, my engine started running hotter and eventually the coolant seals went out. I'm not sure if it was the cause for my bad seals but I'm sure it played a big role in fux0ring them up. Do a search and you'll find some good debates on the stuff. Alot of people say it sucks *** but theres a few that claim it works wonders.

Some say it turns to jell-o in your motor, some say it eats up your seals, I say stay the hell away from it and go green. And be sure the stuff is engineered to work with aluminum, as not all green coolants are created equal.
