drain out my orange coolant?
 

i've herd some people say that the orange long life coolant can cause water seal damage. is this true. rael. in which cause if i should get the stuff out of my beloved 7 what should i replace it with?

yes drain it. ALL of it. fill and flush with water a few times to make sure all its out.

the replace it with green prestone. the non friendly stuff LOL..

my friend used the orange stuff for a while no probs.

well MY FRIEND used 50/50 crisco and CEMENT for a while with no problems... doesn't mean there won't BE problems.

Speaking of flushing....is there a way to flush the heater core while I've got my engine out, or should I just wait til I drop the engine in and flush it the "standard" way?

you could always clamp the hose onto the end of an air-compressor and force it all out w/ air... just a thought

how do you do a coolant flush by the way? :D

turn the heater on, remove the radiator plug and the engine plug, let it drain. fill with distilled, water, repeat until only clear water drains out

My first FC had a perfectly running engine and I switched over to the orange stuff because it was "better". Well, it IS better for ENGINES DESIGNED TO USE IT. Not too long after I put it in, my engine started running hotter and eventually the coolant seals went out. I'm not sure if it was the cause for my bad seals but I'm sure it played a big role in fux0ring them up. Do a search and you'll find some good debates on the stuff. Alot of people say it sucks ass but theres a few that claim it works wonders.

Some say it turns to jell-o in your motor, some say it eats up your seals, I say stay the hell away from it and go green. And be sure the stuff is engineered to work with aluminum, as not all green coolants are created equal.

...the same can be said for yours, if he's using the orange coolant...

ok i'm gonna drain out the orange &hit at the end of the summer when my car goes up on blocks while i'm away at college for the year :(
