Looks like a dump for the wastegate. Get a closer pic from behind, i would like to see how they did it.

You got a few options:

1) run it
2) reroute it back to exhaust
3) get another back plate for the turbine housing

for a while there was a fad to take the back plate off of the turbo, and people were making downpipes that had divorced wasgegate dumps for turbos with internal wastegates. was popular for a while on 7m-gte e-bay exhaust ahaha.

it could be one of those, or it could be an aftermarket setup, or a full aftermarket turbo. can you get us a shot of the front of the turbo?

if i were you, id leave it or plumb it back into the DP. if you find its too loud on its own, you CAN run a small muffler on it.

And on several high-end performance exhausts, because it actually works VERY well.

I'd also like to see more pictures just to see exactly what's going on here, but I also think it looks like a divorced wastegate pipe, in which case it would help a modified engine a lot as far as performance power. It WILL be VERY loud, and maybe not the smartest idea unless the car will not be street driven.
