on it's way

Ordered a crappy pacesetter catback dual exhaust yesterday. Found it new for $309 shipped and it should be here on tuesday, i'll let everyone know the results of my install by wednesday.

I know it's pretty cheap and probably not the best sounding system, but I really won't be putting more then a couple of thousand miles a year on the old vert so i'm hoping it will last a while before dissinigrating.

till wednesday...

Yeah, it's a weekend summer car with most of it's time spent on twisty back- country roads in the middle of nowhere.

It'll probably **** off a couple of cows though

I've had their Header on for a couple years.Frankly,I like it.,I mated it with a Homemade presilencer And then it Takes off to a 3 inch Rev TII exhaust..kind a Nice,Until you Crack the throttle to WIDE OPEN..then People really know you are coming.

Ok, I finally had time to install the monza. What a pain in my ***

After installing it right out of the box, it didn't fit for ****. Both mufflers hung about 6-8 inches from the bumper depending on which side you were looking at. I took it all apart a few times and beat on the hangers one by one until I got it fitting pretty good.

It came with three gaskets, two of which were the wrong size. Five exhaust clamps when I only need two. Four bolts, nuts and washers when it takes six bolts, six nuts and twelve washers. A hanger that is supposed to mount to the y-pipe but is just not compatable whatsoever and two threaded brackets that I don't think were supposed to be part of the kit but they just threw them in anyway cause hey, what the hell right?

After spending the better part of two days fabing this thing to fit I finally got to take it out for a test drive.

Impressions? Pretty quiet at idle but almost sounds like an open system any time you get on the gas. The finish that smoked off for the first 15 minutes has found a new home in my seats, floormats and clothes so i'm pretty sure the wife will not be giving me any tonight But all in all, now that it's installed it doesn't look half bad and i'm sure i'll get used to the sound after a couple hundred miles.

If you don't mind a little fabricating I guess this catback is worth the 300 bucks I paid for it, but not much more. Now let's just hope it doesn't fall off

I'll try and post some pics tomorrow.

Ouch, for that much $$$ and that much of a pain i will just get a custom exahust made when it is time for me to get one.

I know a place i can get a totally custom setup for less then $250 easy depending on how i want it done.

Yeah, i've never had a system designed for a certain car fit so poorly out of the box.

The y-pipe and connecting pipes were ok, but the way the hangers were welded to the mufflers was pure laziness.
