ok. So if I lock my doors by using the switch inside the car and then shut the door. I can still open both doors. I have to manually lock each door with the key. It sucks.
Also, how come sometimes the factory alarm arms itself and other times it does not? Even though my routine is the same everyday.

You have to hold the handle up while you close it, or the lock pops back open. Its the idea behind not locking your keys in your car.

OH MY GOD! I have been trying to figure this out since I got the car. I guess if I had the manual for it that would help.
Thank you man! I feel like a moron now.
Well I have a similar problem. If I lock the doors from inside it will lock the doors, or I can hear it on both sides. If I check the drivers door it is locked but the passenger door doesn't lock when I use the drivers side inside lock. If I lock the passenger one inside then lock the drivers one inside it will unlock the pass. one by locking the drivers, lol. Have to lock the pass. on from the inside then get out and lock he drivers one with the key. Thats the only way to lock both.

Now that I know the "secret" I'm happy.
LMAO thats some funny ****, my first car (83 GSL) the owner told me about the lock and handle. When I got my TII I saw those nifty power locks and just presumed that it wouldn't be like that. Left my car in the ghetto for a day completely unlocked, and no one touched it!! Atleast you noticed! Now I check all the time...

This has been the logic behind the locking mechanism of thousands of car models for decades now...:p
What I am saying is the passenger door is never even opened. If I lock the drivers from the inside it unlocks the passengers, lol. I don't touch the passengers at all. It likes to be open I guess. I dunno.

i just hit the "I" button on my transmitter and it locks both doors.
had to pull the car in, thought id try the stuff you guys are talking about, both lock with both locks and the stay locked even if you don't lift up the handle, guess i'll continue to use the remote alarm/lock so i don't lock keys in the car. good luck on fixing your problems.:1party:

Okay Lemme get in on this, I have a simalar prob with my car and I have an aftermarket alarm hooked up to it. Okay no I know that I have power locks I've seen the siliniods for them and seen them work but the only tim they work is if I disconnect the battery then reconnect it both doors lock then unlock. I lock my doors manually right now I have to if my alarm is engaged because if I chirp my transmitter before I unlock my door my alarm goes off so I suppose that the transmitter should unlock the doors too, I've check all my fuses in the box I'm stumped.
