doing the engine harness

ok, got the rebuild in the car...but now looking at the engine harness...i think its time to rerun some fresh wires

[IMG][/IMG]

looking to get new injector plugs and rerun the wires to the ecu...everything else would probably be reused.......

ok...now heres my question.....what guage wires am i suppose to use?....i read somewhere that 16 guage wires work....but i only managed to find spools of 16 guage speaker wire.....also anything else i should keep in mind?......the wires i need for the 02 and the knock needs to be shielded......IIRC...i tried radio shack but they did not have anything that i was expecting.....any suggestions where i can pick some up?

anyone done this before?....thanks

I WIN!!!!

well....my previous threads was looking to buy a replacement from mazdasurplus...but im pretty sure they ran out of the one i need....and i dont see the justification of spending 500+ on one from the stealership.....so wtf......i heard its been done before......if i can blow 500 on harness i might as well sell my e-manage and go microtech

Holy ****, that harness is gone. AND Pull that motor back out and put some more stuff on it before dropping it in. Save your back, and build almost all of it while it is still on a stand/table/5 gallon bucket...unless you dont have a wench.

I've done a half-assed harness rebuild before. Pretty much just went to Radio Shack to source wires and misc. connectors. I used some nice injector connectors from a good condition cut-up harness. Look around online for shielded wires... Search "modular harness"... That is a thread which has links to many high quality electrical parts (connectors, wires, etc.).
