Question Does Reliability Decrease With Aggressive Street Port

Hello guys I wanted to know if reliability decreases a great deal if T2 motor has an aggressive street port, I am looking into this car that has a recent rebuild with an aggressive street port (running on close to stock boost...)

Let me know your thoughts on this, any info would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Yes it does... your going to be running higher hp. Whenever you make something do more than what it's supposed to be capable of it hurts it's reliability. Just make sure you have the correct mods for what your doing. Streetporting opens the intake ports to the housings so that more air can flow into the chamber at a faster speed. So you might want to look into some type of piggy back fuel computer to help with the air/fuel ratio.

I disagree. Reliability will be similiar to stock. It is how it is driven with the mods that affect the longevity of the motor, more than the mod itself. Now if you went for a big bp or j-port that is another matter. A street port, with the proper supporting mods, should not affect reliability, to any great extent.

Why would you do an agressive streetport if your just gonna use your car as a grocery getter? Your gonna be kickin' on it hard.

I'm want to know what you mean by "Agressive Street Port". Is it both intake and exaust? Bridge Port? Does it have alot of overlap? I'm trying to sort it out and get it right the first time too.
