Ok ive searched and asked about this a couple times. i have a 89 turbo, rb exhaust, greddy FMIC, walbro, safc, intake and some more. when i boost it the boost shoots to 11 psi, then gradually falls to about 5 by the time im at redline. does this mean i need a new turbo or just maybe port the wastgate?

 

boost falling is normal...u need a boost controller to keep the boost constant at redline...to check if ur turbo needs a rebuild..take the TID out...wiggle the turbine shaft to see if u can move it any...then take the IC off and check if there are any excessive deposite of oil in the IC or the pipings

 

Dropping boost isnt normal on my 89 T2. Just check the shaft play, scarring on the housing, and for oil residue like said above.

 

I have a boost controller...its only the turbo xs manual though. ive heard if i get an electronic i can make it constant.

 

ok i kinda thread jacking my own thread, but i was looking at rx7.com today and noticed the FC1000 by Jacobs Electronics. its in the ignition section and it amplifies the spack. i was wondering if anyone has this or knows of anyone who does know about it and how it works.
