i've seen countless methods to locate a vac leak, searching would turn up some of the stuff. But what will work is REPLACING EVERYTHING. Although that may be too rich for some's blood...

I think (THINK) that white smoke may come out if you're running lean, but without open headers I don't think you'll ever see it.

Oh yes and does anyone have a nifty way to find vacume leaks, I found one but it sounds like it will blow me and my car up.

Oh ok that is alot better than spraying flammable gases and wating for the engine RPM's to climb like the other one I found.

No this is very abundint white smoke once it is warmed up. When it is cold it smokes but not near as bad as when warmer up. I'm puzzled by this and I am hoping the engine isn't died or dying.

White smoke = burning coolant no matter which way you look at it.

Are you having to add coolant? How often are you checking the fluid level of the rad and overflow?

I had to add coolant for the first time in a long time the other day. Also the oil has a very sweet smell and has white foam around the filler neck and I think that is from the coolant to. And to make it worse I think it is leaking from the out side of the engine to because it will run off and burn on the exhaust manifold and smells once again very sweet. But why would it put out more smoke once if warms up, is it because it is expnading and pressureizing the radiator fluid???

Yup there is more pressure in the system when it's warmed up. That's why they say to NEVER OPEN THE RAD WHEN HOT!

Check for exterior leaks first, check EVERYWHERE fluid goes on the outside of the motor itself. If your getting white smoke coming out of the exhaust...
