Disassembly of Aero Mirrors???

I need to disassemble the mirro/motor part from the shell of the mirror?? Any Ideas????

ill check tha haynes manual for you because im looking to do the same thing so i can sand blast it and prime it. in the mean time, you should check the online FSM on this forum and post your results. ill get back to you.

I always just tape off the glass and paint the whole thing if painting.

But as I recall the glass is afixed in after the motor assembly is mounted. I think the only way to get the motor assembly is to break and replace the glass.

My dad had to replace a mirror on his truck and I ended up taking the broken one apart. To take the mirror out of the housing you'll need to unbolt the whole moving part of the mirror from behind the mirror, meaning breaking it, so no you can't take it apart.

how would you screw on the new unit if you can access the back to unscrew it off?

yes im sandblasting it as part of a package for cheap, mirrors, sunroof, hatch lid, and the rusted panel strip part on the window.

Well I did do a search and did not find that post, however thanks for your time reposting it for me, I need to get them out of there, so I can cut out a hole and mount LED flashers for my Emergency Response vehicle. Thanks Again!!
