When I start my car on cold mornings, I occasionally have to tap the gas to get the AWS working. Sometimes when I tap the gas I can hear detonation. It only lasts for a second and then I dont hear it anymore at all. I had some detonation problems about a year ago because the timing was off but I fixed it and it doesnt do it anymore. Any ideas as to what could cause the little detonations on the starts though?

I don't believe that is deonation if it was your engine would be gone already. Rotories can only take so much detting.
