disabling the alarm system?
Well.. before the 5spd swap, we were getting woken up all the freaking time in the middle of the night to shut the alarm off before the neighbors woke up...
So... After the 5spd swap, I figured something I did made the alarm system not work anymore. Damn skippy!!
So, something I did in the last couple days must have fixed whatever i broked, and now its going off whenever it sits for more than a couple hours
How do I disable that bastard thing once and for all?
Is there a simple harness to unplug that will take care of it? If there a wire sensor i can jumper than has it always disabled?

cant you just lock the door with the key instead of the inside lock? I was just thinking today how crappy the system is, If I leave the windows down then arm it I can reach in and unlock it and it dosent go off, I need to open the trunk to get it to go off, kinda shitty.

Actually its got a microswitch on the key cylinder (know this all to well). If the door is locked and car armed, unlocking from the interrior sets off the alarm.

The factory security system only arms by locking the doors with the interior latch switches, and then holding the outside handle while closing the door.
So the factory system will not arm from the key in the door. Only disarm from using the key in the door.
But as you mentioned, when the alarm is armed; if you unlock by reaching in the window or sunroof to the lacth switch on the door, the system will trigger.
And that is infact why 99% of the false triggers on the FC are caused actually the latch switch inside the car being dirty, broken, or out of alignment.

So since its an s5 I'm just sol for ditching this thing? Can I just close(open) one of the lock/sensor solenoids by jumpering it, and be done with it?
