Differential removal problems
Differential removal problems
So following along with the directions i've got...
Raise car, done
Drain diff lub, done
Unbolt driveshaft, done
Disconnect driveaxles, done
Remove differential front mounting nuts, hmmm
There appears to be 3 nuts I need to remove. 1 wasn't so bad, 1 was pretty annoying but eventually got, and now the 3rd looks impossible to get to without lowering the subframe. Am I looking at this wrong? Here's the bolt that I can't get to.

yea, you basically need to pull the subframe... i know some guys on here were able to do it by just lowering the subframe (loosening all the bolts holding it almost all the way and letting it hang, but it'll probably be easier just to pull the whole subframe.
Does the Haynes manual tell you to remove THOSE three bolts?
I always remove the two on the other side of the mount! Let the subframe down 1-2" (or all the way down) and you`ll get to the two i mean really easy!

If you drop the subframe to the point where the front mounting point nuts are flush with the lower end of the mounting bolts you should have enough room to get to the diff bolts and get the diff out. Dropping the whole rear subframe is a PITA...don't drop it all the way if you can avoid it.
(oops...just saw that you ended up dropping it all the way...)
