What the hell is the difference between s4 and s5 tailights?

 

S4 tailights are ''bars'' and have a black trim aroudn them, S5 tailights are round

 

imho the s5's are much better lookin but the s4's are ,more of a rectangular shape and the s5 are a round shape. the brake lights!

 

Really, because my 87 s4 turbo 2 has the round type tailights. I guess the guy I bought it from converted them. I honestly didnt think there was a difference.

 

Alot of people like to swap them out. i had a 86 base model that i put the S5 tails on it....

i put the s5's on mine, but i kinda regret it. I want my old ones back

I have both s4 and s5, i can be untrendy when i want to 8-)

 

mine are at my parents house in washington

 

At one time I wanted to change my 88 lights out, but after a while everybody seemed to be doing it, so now mine 'seem' more rare.

 

round tails lights are the ****.

 

I like the both...
the s5 you see all over the place since most people think it looks better
but the s4 is what the fc was introduced with and has a personal appeal to me... when cleaned up they both look nice imo

 

i've check in the junkyard in my area and they only had S4 , anyone know of any websites where i can buy S5 taillights? honestly i like the S5 on my car expect the outer plastic covering has been busted and cracked

 

There are usually some on ebay or you can look in the classifieds at this forum

 

used to hate S5 tail, i liked the red/black contrast of my s4's on my 86 gxl, then a set of s5's came up for sale locally for $100 with harnesses and gaskets, so yeah, sometimes i miss the s4's, but i remember how when lit up they remind me of civic taillights.
