Difference between GTR and GTX igntion

I need to know if there is a difference between the GTR (1987/88) T2 Leading and Trailing coils opposed to the GTX (1989-1991) coil sets.

I'm trying to figure out how to get the ignition on my 20B to run, and I need to figure this crap out SOON. Any help is appreciated.

GT-R models can also be in the 89-91 catageory they were just a less-optioned package than the GT-X's...

but i'm sure you meant series 4 compared to series 5 ignition

Nothing unusual that I could see...maybe different part numbers, but both systems work pretty identically.

Erik:
Actually, I was going by the long lived legacy over at Team FC3S' website....
http://www.teamfc3s.org/about.shtml
scroll down to "What does FC3S mean?"

but yes, Series 4 Vs. Series 5

REted:
Thanks for the info

I highly doubt you'll get either to run a 20b... you need the 20b coils

Why would you think that only the 20b coils would work? Thats like saying that you can't use trailing plugs in all 4 holes... thats like saying that you can't do a 5-lug conversion on a 4-lug RX7.... I don't mind comments, but your avatar says specifically to "search" before you post... how about you try it?

It can and will be done.

thats like saying trailing coils and ignitiors cannot be wired up to fire the leading plugs in addition to the normal trailing coils and ignitors.

guess what, i have 3 trailing ignitiors and 2 pairs of trailing coil packs providing the spark to my 4 plugs...........
