Question differance between 88 and 89 TII

This is probably a stupid question but I'm just curious...

What is the difference between the 88 TII and 89 TII engine?

I was looking at the stats for these cars on www.carpoint.msn.com and the stock 88 TII has 182 HP and the 89 TII has 200 HP.

Why is there such a differance in the HP? What's the differance in the motor, and can I modify(change housings, rotors, etc..) the 88 to get 200 HP w/ no mods.

I'm just curious...

Thanks.

89 has a higher compression engine and runs a little more boost stock, better turbo and manifold, updated interior, factory sideskirts, standard rear spoiler, nicer looking stock rims, round tailights, electric OMP, generally less problems than 87-88 TII's. those are the big things. there are TONS of other differences that i'm sure other people will list

the problem when you get one thing you want to get other things so you don't blow it up like. if you get full exhaust you need fcd. then you don't want to overboost so you want to port the wastegate and get a boost controller etc.....

I bought this veideo on rebuilding rotarys and on the video the guy says that if you have anything before an 89 13b to replace the rotor housings with an 89 or higher.. what's the reason for this?

89+ housings have a thicker casting so they can take more abuse

so obviously it would be better to change the housings so I wouldn't have to worry about them. What about the rear housing.. do you know if the 89+ ones have a bigger port than the 87-88 housings? would it be beneficial to change that?

Swap

How hard would it be to swap an 89+ TII motor into an 87 or 88 TII? Would i have to change all the goodies such as the harness and that type of stuff? I see there are a lot of 87 and 88 Turbo II's for sale so it got me thinking hehe.
