diff mount weight block.
Anyone running without the differential mount's front weight block?
Any advantages??? Disadvantages.
I know the competion mount doesn't use it.

well I am assuming on a street car it dampens the vibration between the mount and the sub frame, but that is why I was asking...
(that and I had to remove one on a diff I was swaping today, just to get that damm diff back up in there)...

really can't say. I went from the 4 lug/3.9 stock set-up to a full set of comp mounts and 4.3 w/5 lug. My car is much tighter and more "noisey". not bad but I do notice a difference

My N/A doesn't have the weight on it (not sure if it's a comp mount or not) and I can't tell the difference from that and any of my other cars. Guess I just don't have a sensitive enough *** to tell a difference.

Of course that might be what the weight is (since it is rubber) a noise suppresion device for the rear end.

It's not really a weight block per se - I think that's there if/when the diff mount fails, you have a rubber stopper that's hitting the frame of the car. I think it's also designed if you load the stock mount enough, it will stop its movement.
Anyhow, just transfer the one from the stock mount to the comp mount - that's what I've done in the past. It's generally a Good Thing to have .
I noticed a big difference with the comp mount - really eliminates a lot of drivetrain slop.
