Exclamation Did a Compression test today.. Not Good.

Today I bought a compression tester to check the compression on the 7 I recently bought. Did the front rotor and it was at 95psi..... Then did the rear and it was at 20psi Oh well I bought the car for a project car anyway... I was wondering your guys opinion if I should get a rebuild kit or turn it into a turbo car... I was also wondering about where a good place to look for turbo engines, Or rebuild kits. Also im on a kinda tight budget but If I go turbo I have to do the transmission and diff.. correct? I just want to see what prices are going for and your guys opinions.. Thanks.

You can do the swap without changing transmissions, in the sense that the engine will bolt up to the transmission. It will be hard on the n/a transmission to handle TII kind of power, though.

Oh, and JDM engines are a good way to go turbo cheap and easy, but the quality of the engine may be questionable.

I heard that JDM motors Are a hit or miss... Good or not, Normally need a rebuild after buying one. It might be worth looking at right? Also I would need the wiring harnesses and stuff correct?

the other day i remember reading someone who had a similiar problem, they were getting decent PSI on their front rotor and nearly nothing on the rear. What he did was he got it goin and got it up to operating temperature and did some spirited driving and the rear rotor must have re-seated itself and regained pressure pretty much. you might wanna try it out. i believe it was said to be carbon build up or something.

yea Ill try it... I let it soak overnight with atf in the rear rotor to see if the apex seals were stuck or something, and I got 30 psi in the rear so it went up 10... Ill have to drive it a bit to see what happens... Its Relly slow though... probably wont hurt to try though.
