Removed UIM wonder what those holes are

Removed UIM wonder what those holes are

ok so i removed my UIM and everything else to be swapped onto my new engine.


the UIM ( one hole is covered i think thats normal)


New Engine with the holes plugged


old engine and the holes are open

so i was wonder what those holes are and if its ok to leave it blocked?

They feed coolant threw your manifold to the turbo.

goodluck.....

Look like the previous owner blocked off coolant line to the turbo. He prolly had like an larger turbo but oil cooled, not water cooled. But anyways good luck on that.

The rotor housings with the water passages *plugged* are non turbo rotor housings....most likely.

If you drill out the rear coolant passage, then where will you install the o'ring to keep the water from leaking out? There's no place for the o'ring to seat on the non turbo housing.
