Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handy

FD's. I would like to get an FD, I grow tired if these FCs. They leave me wanting more; a certain emptiness is taking over. I can only hope that when I am ready to purchase one there are still some with low mileage. Whatever the price, I shall not heed to pay. They have a certain timelessness about them; everytime I see one I always look twice. The curves, the plush leather, the smooth cockpit; all these things make my desire grow stronger. While I love my FC, I would easily let it go. I see a sort of "status" that comes with an FD, almost like the "big boy" league. Athough I get a lot of compliments with my FC it's almost like looking at an old supra and then looking at a newer one; noone looks twice at the old ones because well, the've been out-done by their later models. I hope all the F&F posers didn't ****** up the last of these beauties for I shall kill them and store them in a freezer in my basement. Tired now, must sleep.

Yo,

I ain't gonna say the FD ain't the sexiest shape to ever come outta Japan, 'cause it is.

I ain't gonna say the FD ain't hella fast, 'cause it is.

But what I'm gonna say is: You both are in for quite a shock when you go from an FC to an FD.

If you buy an FD for 13K, you better have /another/ 13K in the bank for "support" money. You haven't had a money pit, until you've had an FD. To quote an FD owner: "They should have just made it a $60,000 car and done everything RIGHT, instead of making everything plastic..."

I'll take my NA FC that starts every time, has never spent a night at a shop, and has never failed me yet.

Agreed, a nice TII with a few mods will run just as good (or better) than a $13,000 money pit with rotted vacuum hoses and a non existant second turbo...

..but to drive a 3rd gen with the windows down and hear "Oh ****!" at every light is something one needs to experience.

Everyone knows that FDs are fast. They look fast. They are suppose to be fast. Thats lame. I'll like FCs until the end of time. Especially FCs that will eat most FDs for lunch and dinner.

I'm keping my FC indefinetly and will not replace it. When I'm making enough money to buy a sports car in the FD's price/maintainance range, I don't think I'm going to buy an FD. I'd actually rather get a Supra or the newest 3000GT. I feel I'm too big for the FD,(I'm 6'1 230), even though I'm sure there are lots of people bigger than me with it. Most likely I'll end up buying a luxury car like the, Audi A4, Acura TL, or a 3 Series Convertible and keeping the FC (with lots of mods) as my sports car.

I'd rather buy an FC convertible & TII for now.

I'm considering a 1st gen as my next rotary acutally. A nice 1985 fuel injected 13B GSL-SE (hope I got that model # right).

I agree the 3rd gens are the most exotic rotary out there - even more so than the cosmos.

My friend just converted his N/A to a TII (Rx_treme)
He went out last week after our local RX-7 Club Meeting and raced another members FD 3 times.
Beat the FD all 3 times! I guess the guy in the FD couldn't believe that he got whipped by an FC!
I have to admit, the FD's are fun to drive! Nobody knows what kind of car they are. They just know they look fast!
When I drive in my FC, people don't even give it a second look!
