i have been on both sides of this situation before. you will never see her again, the only people you will have contact are the insurance company. that's why we all have them.

I kinda know how you feel man. I just got rear ended the other day, by a lady in a jeep. We were both stopped at a stoplight and I was turning. When the light turned green i started turning but then had to yield to a pedestrian so i stopped, and she hit me. Broke my tail light and damaged the driverside rear quarterpanel. I am so sad, but it is not anywhere near as bad as yours. I feel for you.
I agree that the legitimate way to make the best of this situation is to buy the car back from the insurance company as salvage and part her out. It's like signing your organ donor's card and helping out a dozen other 7 owners. A woman hit me 1/2 and 1/2 head on in my truck. I argued for an accepible settlement, had three different adjustors look at it and explained the 'legal' mods that made it valuable. Then I purchased it as salvage for $250 I think and ended up reselling it as a rebuilder. I doubled my money.

Sometimes these "large" settlements still arent enough if you got hurt badly! Look at him, it has cost him more than the settlement and he's still in pain... You really don't know how long the pain, if any, is going to be with you or how costly and how time consuming do you? You can't predict things like that, so you kind of have to go for as much of a settlement as you can to look out for yourself. Just shrugging it off and saying "I'm probably okay and don't need anything" or "I don't need very much" to try and be nice to the lady could bite you in the *** in the end.

that sucks man... i know how it is... my car was totaled around november of last year too, at least you have salvageable body parts... every single body part was damaged... only salvageable things were everything mechanical, for which i was lucky... well, i was also lucky i didn't get hurt at 530am spinning against the oleander divider on the freeway....

Ahh, man. Sorry about your wreck man. Hope it doesn't happen to too many other 7's. Although it does make our cars that much more rare, but still. When my friend totaled his 88 Supra N/A Auto, he got a $4500 settlement check and bought an 88 Supra Turbo (still auto, but hey.). Why not just get a settlement check in court via sueing the "ma'dam's" insurance company and get yourself a TII?
that makes mesad seeing these torn up 7's .but i also realised that i dont have a rear winshield wiper. i muct have the most basic 87 n/a there is. it doesnt even have compartments behind the seat! but i paid $500 cash for it and $425 for a motor. turns out i comletely enjoy the car anyways.
Car is now for sale:
